Gunther III/IV- Gunther III, a German shephard dog, inherited apparently $65 million ( 487.8 crore INR), through a will made by it’s owner Countess Karlotta Leibenstein of Germany after his death in 1992. The dog used to live large until it’s death, the humans who managed this huge wealth eventually managed to raise it approximately to $375 million through various investments. And this was passed to his son Gunther IV, who lives a life full of luxury. He has mansions in Italy and the Bahamas and once purchased a mansion in Miami with 8 bedrooms for $7.5 million (56.3 crore INR), from world famous pop-singer Madona. And Gunther IV used to sleep in the master bedroom of the mansion where Madona herself used to sleep. The dog has 8 human helpers, it rides a Rolls-Royce luxury car, has a luxurious private boat for see travelling and a customized swimming pool for relaxation. Currently the dog is owner of nearly $400 million (3002 crore INR), placing it in the top of our list.

2. Gigoo- The only chicken to make appearance in our list of top 5 richest animals in the world is Gigoo. Gigoo was a Scots Dumpy hen willed $15 million (112.56 crore INR). She was owned by Miles Blackwell, a publishing giant of textbooks in Britain. Mr. Blackwell after selling interest from his family business, spent the rest of his life raising sheep and hens in his countryside house. When he died in 2001, he gave much of his remainings to charity and reportedly left 15 million dollars for his beloved hen Gigoo.

3. Tommaso- Tommaso is a black cat that inherited $13 million (97.56 crore INR) in Italy. This cat was a stray that found its way into the home of Maria Assunta, a property magnate in Italy. When Assunta died at the age of 94, she willed her fortune to either the cat or an animal welfare charity that would look after it as she had no children or relatives. It was decided after no suitable charity could be found that the money would be given to the cat, held in trust by Assunta's nurse Stephania. The millionaire antiques dealer and recluse refused to recognize his family in his will and split the majority of his wealth between three cat charities, with the instruction to look after his beloved pet.

5.The Grumpy Cat- If you think all the animals in our list got rich by inheriting their owner’s money, then our number 5 is here to prove you completely wrong. Yes the ‘Grumpy Cat’ is the one and only in our list who earned all the money by herself and became wealthier than 99% of people in India. This animal became "wealthy" as the result of entertainment, such as through film and television or as an Internet meme, and had an estimated worth of at least $99 million.

Tardar Sauce, nicknamed Grumpy Cat, was an American Internet celebrity cat. She was known for her permanently "grumpy" facial appearance, which was caused by an underbite and feline dwarfism. She came to prominence when a photograph of her was posted on September 22, 2012, on social news website Reddit by Bryan Bundesen, the brother of her owner Tabatha Bundesen. Lolcats and parodies created from the photograph by Reddit users became popular. She was the subject of a popular Internet meme in which humorously negative, cynical images are made from photographs of her.

Thanks to merchandising deals, paid appearances, a Lifetime movie and a variety of sponsorships, Grumpy Cat amassed quite a bit of wealth in her short life, though her net worth has been disputed. According to some estimates, Grumpy Cat’s net worth may be up to $100 million (750.4 crores INR). Grumpy Cat’s net worth was estimated by the Daily Express to be $100million (£78million), or £64 at the time (2014). However, this figure has been debunked by Tabatha Bundesen, Grumpy’s owner. She told the Huffington Post the number is “completely inaccurate, but declined to comment on her cat’s specific earnings.

On 17th May, 2019 the ‘Grumpy Cat’ died at an age of 7, leaving behind her internet meme legacy.
